President Recep Tayyip Erdogan three-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan went on a tour of the Gulf Arab countries to seek trade and investment opportunities for Turkey's faltering economy. Having visited three countries, Erdogan's first stop was Saudi Arabia.
According to the Foreign Economic Relations Board, Erdogan, who had a meeting with King Salman of Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, went to Jeddah with about 200 businessmen. Business forums are held as part of Erdogan's three-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
According to previous statements by two senior Turkish officials, Turkey expects Gulf Arab countries to invest $10 billion directly in assets in Turkey as a result of Erdogan's visits.
Speaking to reporters in Istanbul before his trip, Erdogan said, “We want to spread the solid foundations on which our relations are based in a wide area of cooperation. During our visits, our primary agenda will be joint investment and commercial activities with these countries in the coming period. We will evaluate what we can do with a win-win understanding.”
